The benefits of exercising with your partner, family or friends

You may be at different fitness levels and have different goals, but that doesn’t mean you can’t exercise together. When you exercise with a partner or in a group setting your energy heightens and you are more likely to push yourself and work out harder.

  • Quality time. Couples spend most of their time apart due to careers and other responsibilities. Instead of hitting the gym solo, plan a workout time that fits both of your schedules to workout with a trainer. Exercise produces chemicals in the brain that evoke feelings of happiness and reduce stress while increasing libido. So train together, you’ll reach your fitness goals, and create a deeper bond without sacrificing that one-on-one time that every partnership needs.
  • Motivation and support. Getting encouragement and praise from your partner is one of the best motivators. Exercising together will help both of you remain consistent and take care of one another’s health. Taking care of your body not only shows your loved one that you want to be your best for them, but that you want be around for years to come.
  • Family time. Exercising with members of the family not only brings the family together, but creates an active lifestyle and sets good habits of physical exercise that will last a lifetime. Scheduled family exercise does double duty as quality time and good health, given our jam-packed schedules. Turn a few days a week into an opportunity to get fit and have fun together, making family time much more rewarding! Family fitness!
  • Working out with a Friend. Working out solo is fine, but friends can make everything better. Adding a friend to your session not only cuts down on the costs but suddenly the session goes by a lot faster. Working out alongside one of your friends is a great way to catch up, laugh and make exercise fun. Getting in shape together will strengthen your body and your relationship!
